Heritage Insurance Makes Tampa Bay Times Top Workplaces 2017 List Again

Tampa Bay Top Workplaces 2017

Heritage Insurance is honored to be chosen again as a Top Workplace by the Tampa Bay Times. The 2017 Top Workplace recognition marks the second consecutive year, and third time overall, in the company’s five-year operating history that Heritage has achieved this highly prized award based on employee evaluations.

Based on millions of employee surveys, Top Workplaces learned that it’s not all about perks in today’s workplace. Sure, free gourmet coffee and pinball machines are great, but what employees want most in their jobs is to be brought in to what their organization is doing. Companies that can achieve this with employees are considered to be, ‘Organizationally Healthy’.

The Organizational Health metrics on which employees evaluated Heritage and hundreds of other companies this year were: Alignment, Effectiveness, Connection & My Manager. Heritage’s results repeatedly outpaced the benchmark and posted improvement from last year’s impressive results. The company was also a stand out on its benefits with employee satisfaction 58% above the benchmark.

“Management consistently demonstrates an attitude of genuine caring for the employees. This feels more like a family than just a workplace.” –Heritage employee

Heritage ranked 6th out of the 30 mid-sized companies evaluated – that’s a move up of 16 spots from last year!  Heritage employees recognized the company’s direction, employee development and meaningfulness of the job.

“It is clear from my manager that my ideas matter and encourages me to voice my thoughts….. positive or negative. Open door policy at all times. This is the best place I have worked in 30 years….hands down!”  – Heritage employee

Over the past 5 years, Heritage has grown to a cohesive organization of just over 300 employees by creating a family culture that treats employees with respect and appreciation. The employee survey results reflect the organization health that can be found at Heritage. Top Workplaces summarizes it beautifully:

Employees want high levels of organizational health as it enriches their working life. Investors want high levels of organizational health as it makes their company more successful. And having more fulfilled employees and more successful organizations is hugely beneficial to society overall.
