Community Involvement

Heritage Insurance is more than an insurance company, we are active members of the Florida community. Heritage’s slogan — Pillars of Strength and Character — highlights our ethics and core beliefs. Chief among these beliefs is our commitment to support our local communities.

Since its beginning in 2013, Heritage has donated over $7.2 million in charitable contributions.  Here are some of the highlights.

Lightning Street Made

Heritage is honored to sponsor the Oldsmar Lightning Made Street Hockey Rink, the first of its kind in Pinellas County. The rink is the second of 10 being built in the Tampa Bay community as part of the Lightning’s Build the Thunder 2.0 and Connect the Thunder initiatives. The grand opening was held on October 12, 2019, and following the ceremony, the Lightning Community Hockey department and alumni held clinics for all ages. Heritage’s commitment to this rink creates more healthy opportunities for the young people of Tampa Bay and presents a unique opportunity to give back to the local community through our partnership with the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Life4NetFamilies

Heritage Insurance teamed up with Mendez & Associates Insurance, the Broward Latin American Association- Insurance Agency, and Life4NetFamilies for a clothing drive to support the families of Broward County’s citizens who are in need. All clothing donated went directly to Life4NetFamilies to distribute among the county’s homeless and impoverished people. Life4NetFamilies is located in the heart of Broward County, FL and serves individuals and families in crisis. Through their partnerships with companies like Heritage, Life4NetFamilies is able to secure enough food, clothing, and help to support all of the people who are in need and looking for help. Through company donations, Heritage supports Step Up For Students, a program which provides scholarships for children with financial or special needs.  In the past 4 years, Heritage has donated over $6 million in contributions to this program that has changed the lives of young people who now have options. Options to attend a school away from drugs and gangs.  Options to attend a school with the staff and equipment to accommodate their special needs on a higher level.  Options that provide more favorable odds to go on and do great things.

BRC Restoration, a Heritage Insurance Holdings, Inc. subsidiary, recently donated building materials to Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas County.  The BRC Restoration team loaded a box truck with 20 windows, 36 doors, 6 rolls of carpet, and a variety of bathroom fixtures, all in excellent condition, and delivered them to the Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas County office. The Salvation Army - Clearwater and Upper Pinellas County

Teaming up with the Salvation Army for the fourth consecutive year, Heritage Insurance helped to bring some much needed cheer to the Tampa Bay area again this past holiday season through their participation in the Angel Tree program. Every year that Heritage Insurance has participated, the enthusiasm has grown. In 2017, Heritage sponsored 450 angels, an increase of 200 angels over 2016.  That’s more angels than employees in the Clearwater headquarters!

Coop's Catch for Kids

Heritage Insurance sponsored the Coop’s Catch for Kids charity fishing tournament with the Tampa Bay Lightning led by head coach Jon Cooper for the fourth year in a row on Tuesday, October 1, 2019. The tournament was held in partnership with the V Foundation to benefit pediatric cancer research at Moffitt Cancer Center and All Children’s Hospital.  This catch and release inshore grand slam tournament was a fun day on the water for the participants including several Lightning players paired with V Foundation donors, and has raised about $500,000 for pediatric cancer research over the past four years.

All children's Hospital - John Hopkins Medicine

Heritage employees joined in the Christmas in July program, an event designed to replenish the supply of toys that children enjoy during their stay at All Children’s Hospitals. Heritage gathered toy donations from employees over the summer and a group from the company visited the hospital to distribute the toys to children.

Heritage also supports the Greek Children’s Fund at All Children’s Hospital with donations, which assists families with sick and disabled children.

Heritage & its employees support Religious Community Services Food Bank each Thanksgiving. The company hosts a food drive and employees in both the Clearwater and Sunrise locations donate food and goods to help families in need.
